The Mango Story

This is the first story that most Hindu children hear from their parents. Sage Narada arrives for a visit on Mt. Kailasa, home of Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, and their two children Ganesha and Karttikeya. Narada offers a special mango to Lord Shiva, saying it can only be eaten by one individual and cannot be shared. A contest ensues between the two brothers for who will win the prized mango.
