The Pandavas traveled to holy places in the forest. Sage Lomasa told the Pandavas the story about the great scholar Ashtavakra.  He gave them the teaching that a weak or ignorant father may have a strong or scholarly son.  The greatness of a person is not measured by their physical appearance or age.  The Pandavas received additional teachings from other sages including the importance of sincerity, faithfulness, self-control and duty.
